Spotting Errors कैसे हल करें

How to Solve Spotting Errors

Step 1: Subject-Verb Agreement (कर्ता-क्रिया की जाँच)

Subject matches Verb in number and person.

Past time word = Past Indefinite tense.

Step 3: Pronoun का क्रम और Case

तीसरे चरण में Pronoun के Nominative/Objective रूप (जैसे he/him, I/me) और उनके क्रम (123 या 231 नियम) की जाँच करें। Preposition के बाद हमेशा Objective case आता है।

हल किए हुए उदाहरण

आम गलती

💡 सामान्य वाक्यों के लिए '231' और भूल/अपराध स्वीकारने के लिए '123' का क्रम याद रखें। फ़ॉर्मूला: Preposition + Objective Case (me, him, us).

Step 4: Articles और Noun के रूप

चौथे चरण में a/an/the का सही प्रयोग और Uncountable nouns (जैसे furniture, information, scenery) की जाँच करें, जिनमें s/es नहीं लगता। साथ ही compound nouns में सही जगह plural बनाने के नियम देखें।

हल किए हुए उदाहरण

आम गलती

💡 Uncountable nouns (furniture, advice, information, scenery) के साथ कभी 'a/an' या 's' न लगाएं। फ़ॉर्मूला: Uncountable noun = No plural form.

Step 5: Prepositions और Fixed Prepositions

पाँचवें चरण में देखें कि शब्दों के साथ सही fixed preposition लगी है या नहीं (जैसे angry के साथ at/with, addicted के साथ to)। साथ ही पैदल चलने के लिए 'on foot' और वाहन से के लिए 'by' के नियमों की जाँच करें।

हल किए हुए उदाहरण

आम गलती

💡 Fixed prepositions को रट लें; 'married to' और 'different from' परीक्षाओं के पसंदीदा हैं। फ़ॉर्मूला: Word + Fixed Preposition = Correct collocation.

Step 6: Adjectives, Adverbs और Conjunction Pairs

छठे चरण में तुलना (Degrees of comparison), 'too/very' का अंतर, और conjunction pairs (जैसे neither-nor, not only-but also) की सही जोड़ी की जाँच करें।

हल किए हुए उदाहरण

💡 अच्छी या सकारात्मक विशेषताओं के साथ 'too' न लगाएं। फ़ॉर्मूला: Too + Negative Adjective, Very + Positive Adjective.

Step 7: Redundancy (अनावश्यक शब्द) और No Error

No duplicate meanings in one phrase.

English version — How to Solve Spotting Errors

Spotting Errors is considered the most scoring yet daunting section in SSC and Railway exams. Hindi-medium students often try direct translation to find rules, leading to mistakes. In this chapter, we will learn a fixed checklist to scan and correct every sentence step-by-step within 30 seconds.

Step 1: Check Subject-Verb Agreement

First, check if the Subject and main Verb agree in number (singular or plural). Note that in constructions like 'neither-nor' or 'with', the verb agrees according to the nearest or primary subject.
